Google's Small Business Event

Posted by admin on February 18, 2013

Last week we had the opportunity to attend a Google sponsored event called G.Y.B.O., which is short for Get Your Business Online. If you are a new entrepreneur, or are looking to get some great advice on how to build or improve the efficiency and reach of your web presence, we highly recommend looking into these informative seminars (here’s the link to the DC GYBO page). Oh and by the way, it’s totally FREE! Allow me to reiterate, F-R-E-E, a word that seldom exists doing business in a city like DC. Upon arrival there were tables of Google employees, offering their time to work personally with small business owners to answer any questions they had, ranging from Google Adwords to search engine optimization.

The 3 sessions being offered were “Build Your Free Website”, “Grow Your Business Online”, and “Promote Your Business Online”. We attended the latter 2, which were roughly an hour long each, which was perfect...quick and informative. Did we mention free? Even if you attend an event and don’t learn a whole lot, it’s still a great networking opportunity to meet some other local entrepreneurs and business owners. Plus they had some great food for attendees, including cake pops from “Baked By Yael”. I can assure you that having one of their cake pops is an absolute must!
